Chaps,
AS I mooted to Kris earlier on the FG forums, I'm more than happy to volunteer helping you guys out. I'm not the sort to stand back and watch all the heavy lifting being done, and having run or been involved with several online teams of one sort or another I know the amount of work required. I'm not looking to stand on anyone's toes or ask for keys to the executive lounge but for you guys to toss me any organisational requirements or whatever may need doing. If I can do it I will, and if not I'll say so too. (Some technical things are beyond my ability at the moment, so don't ask for the UK tile remapping and texturing by next friday ok? ;D ;D)

Thanks for the offer, Gavin. I'm more than happy to have another pair of hands on board. I reckon you and Nemesis seem to be coming from the same direction in terms of flying and ops, so my suggestion would be the two of you team up to lead the organisation of our group flying activities (although others can still organise events if they want, managed overall by the two flying officers (for want of a better title... though I quite like it!)
Alex, would you be head of development, as you have by far more experience of the way the game is constructed than any of us?
That's my idea of an emerging structure for the club, anyway...

All looks good to me. The more hands we have to do the lifting, the better. We all want the same thing, which is to put the UK aspect of FG on the map.... literally. Thanks for volunteering, Gavin

Also, the new forums need moderators. So far, that could follow the same route: Alex - Development Nem & CRD - Flying Operations I'll cover one of the others, I hate to say it but maybe it should be the bar Would you guys be willing to take that on?

Id like to offer help, but having 3 jobs, wife , kid and running a gaming squad & servers eats up a lot of my time ( im usually flying while working in my workshop waiting for diagnostics to run on broken laptops )

We better not be getting drinks with lil umbrellas in em!
Stuart, being a member and spreading the word is help enough. You're one of the pathfinders, mate. Besides, having 3 wives, a job and a kid is more than enough to keep you busy. No wait!......!

I'm happy to be put where ever I'm most use to the collective.
I have a few ideas of things we can do but they can wait a little to see how things develop and emerge. Key I think is me logging some more experience with FG and the system and you guys.
In the original PM to Algy, I said the following were things I thought needed looking at:
Kris said he was going to have a word with the other guys/gals which had posted interest on the FG forum. That should be a starting point.
I know some of you are looking at developing airfields and scenary which will garner interest and attention when the time comes for it to be released, and I'd suggest that we have an event to cover the "opening" too.
I've looked at the Virtual Airlines threads over at the FG and came away with the distinct impression I must be a bit odd not to be looking for that sort of experience. As I said to Kris earlier, i'm interested in the "flying club" ethos, harking back to the prewar days almost of pottering from one little airfield to another, not necessarily flying fast jets (although there's room for that too) or doing Long Haul flights (again, plenty of scope for that).
That's where I'm coming from.

You also need to work toward achieving the much coveted "Muffin eating proficiency badge". It's a tough thing to ask our members but it's vital we maintain a high standard.

toasted or american type muffin? In actual fact I'm equally proficient in both I think as my waistline can attest unfortunately!
Sorry, edited while you were replying.

Sorry mate, I sent you a PM - or thought I did - then realised it had logged me out. So it didn't go. Basically, please come over to the new site and have a look. www.fguk.co.nr

Blimey! That's an edit and a half, lol.
We ask that our members are proficient in ALL muffin eating. It's the only way to go. Glad to hear you've been practicing!
You have lots of good points and ideas there. I especially like the opening events for newly built fields. There's just so much potential for fly-ins and events. Only limited by our imagination.
I, too am all misty eyed for the pioneering aviation period of the 30's and 40's. I'm sure we'll be able to cater for us rudder n stick guys as well as the fly-by-wire gang. It all gives us a wide scope for variety and healthy ribbing.
I for one have a really good feeling about the FGUK, not least because of the shear enthusiasm shown by all involved so far.
I think Kris created a monster when he proposed it in the FG forum ;D
